The aim of the self defence training (or series of ongoing self defence classes) will be to teach you the skills of defending yourself when there is no other option available,
the “flight or fight” Syndrome.

We are not teaching a ‘style’ of martial arts but some self awareness of avoiding dangerous situations, diffusing potential problems and using the mind to make better choices.

At the same time, quickly giving you the skills to defend yourself against the most common attacks encountered.

Classes are suitable for beginners to advanced ( male or female, adults or teenagers) and quickly equip the learner with a focus, skill and awareness through interactive two person drills.

Practising martial arts ( even for a short time) leads to greater flexibility and an increased awareness in how to cope with dangerous situations. Having prior knowledge and preparation means that you are less likely to be attacked.

Learning that you already have many 'tools' of self defence at your disposal also means that your attitude and self confidence is at a much deeper level and your fear is minimised.

Relaxation and awareness is the basis, leading to naturalness, harmony and self confidence in life. The ability to 'go out' and 'return' unharmed is our main intention.

The exercises and drills were carefully designed and refined over hundreds of years to counter the effects of age and further, to create a surplus of energy in the body ensuring physical and psychological health and well being as well as to enhance the fitness, flexibility, co-ordination and focus of each participant.

Tension, related to physical and psychological problems, and many conditions of ill health may also improve or be completely cured as inner energy accumulates.

Through gentle and refined exercises, the internal organs are gently massaged, and the blood, sinews and bones are strengthened. The pathways in the body are opened. After a time the vital energy will be felt accumulating, and beginning to circulate throughout the body. Further practice refines this.
